Kindergarten Activities: Feeding Stray Animals

animal feeding activity

Wouldn't you like to help stray animals with your child? What you need to do is very simple. It is possible to diversify them according to the seasons and animals. With this activity, which can also be evaluated within the framework of family participation activities, you can strengthen children's social skills while instilling a love of animals and nature.

  • On hot summer days, you can put a bowl of water and some food in front of your door. If you wish, you can use leftover meals at home instead of food, which will not be spicy, onion or potato.
  • In the winter months, you can do street animals a favor by leaving food or leftover food in a clean and dry place.
  • When people think of stray animals, the first thing that comes to mind is dogs and cats. Birds, on the other hand, seem to be somewhat forgotten. Let's do the birds a favor, too. Crush leftover bread crumbs and stale bread, pastries and fill them in a bag. Go outside with your child and sprinkle in a bird-populated area.
  • Finally, you can ask your child the following questions:

“How did you feel after helping the animals?”
“What do you think about giving leftover food to animals instead of throwing it away?”
“Do you have any other ideas to help the animals more?”
