Preschool Math Activities: Numbers in My Hands

numbers in my hands preschool math activity

A significant number of children and even adults are afraid of math. However, with productive activities to be done in the preschool period, children can be made to love mathematics. This preschool math activity, which also improves children's numerical skills, can be applied as follows:

  • Prepare 5 sheets of paper and write the numbers 1 to 5 on the sheets one by one. Make sure that each paper has a separate number. Carry spare papers with you as well.
  • Color your child's hands with finger paint.
  • If there is a number on the paper, ask him to press his hand on the paper as many as that number. For example, if the number is 4, let him press his hand on the paper 4 times.
  • If he makes a mistake, try again with a different piece of paper.

This exercise not only strengthens children's counting skills, but also contributes to their development in terms of decision making and recognizing colors.
